 Artist Statement: "My passion for nature and color, along with observing how light and shadows interact are motivations that drive my desire to reflect what I see and feel on canvas. As an artist, I love being able to see within the natural wonder of God’s creation…..unique shades of color, intriguing shapes and images that bring joy to my soul. Using oil’s that are rich in color and texture help me to convey this joy to a canvas with hopes that others see this through my art.
My art is inspired by photographs I take when traveling, a photograph I may take locally or a quick “pullover” to snap a sunset, dramatic cloud formation or an unusual tree. My landscapes and seascapes have been described by some as “peaceful”, which is how I feel as I use my brushes and palette knives to portray an image that has moved me."
